The Birth of Our Mobile Plant Business

My name is Kristin, and I am the owner and primary carer of plants at Earth In Hand. My husband Mark & I operate this ever-evolving, mobile plant business. We do plant pop-ups at local businesses, hold classes & workshops all over town and provide plant maintenance for businesses & homes. Among many other services.

We started out by doing local markets & such, then we expanded our roots into a brick & mortar shop for about a year before deciding to go completely mobile with the business. This decision was that of a bittersweet nature, but it was the best decision I felt like could have made in the light of circumstances.

At this point in time, for us, it just made sense to go to the customers rather than waiting for them to come to us.

Hence, our new business plan was in motion. Mobile Houseplant Care. Pop-Up Plant Sales. Classes & Workshops.

It also became quickly apparent that this was a much needed service for the area, as my emails were blowing up with people asking me to help with their plants! I was blown away. This was clearly something that did not exist in the community and we were to be the first to provide this - it felt pretty unreal! To create a niche for yourself at this day in age is not easy so I was very pleased.

I genuinely want to teach people, empower them to want to take care of their own plants AND know it’s not only possible, but it can even be easy. And fun!

The full list of services we offer are:

  • Plant Consultations (Home or Business)

  • Plant Maintenance (Home or Business)

  • Plant Sitting (Home or Business)

  • Plant Outfitting, Design & Installation (Home or Business)

  • Classes & Workshops

  • Plant Pop-Up Sales & Small Markets

I am beyond excited to begin this new journey & I hope to launch this blog as more of a way to communicate with my customers rather than social media. I will plan to do atleast one blog a week- and I am super bursting with ideas so it’s hard for me to know where to start. So please, if you have any feedback or suggestions please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you thank you THANK YOU for reading.

Let me know what you would like to see me talk about or any specific subjects you’re curious of in the plant love.

Much Love,

Kristin <3
